As you may know, effectively translating material from one language to another is a challenging task for any translator. This is especially true when translating A Course in Miracles. It requires experienced translators who are well qualified with special skills, including a thorough understanding of the Course and an ability to convey its concepts and meanings without distortion or errors. Being a Course translator also requires great patience, dedication, insight, and perseverance. That's because translating A Course in Miracles is a committed assignment and also takes considerable time. You may be surprised to learn that translations of the Course normally take from five to seven years—and in some instances even more—depending on the language, and on the availability of funds needed to complete each particular translation.

Established in 1982, the Foundation's translation program has evolved substantially. Together, the translations we have completed represent about 90 percent of the world's population, while those currently in translation, when published, will bring this figure to nearly 93 percent. As A Course in Miracles becomes better known in more countries, student demand will encourage us to add more languages. You can learn more by visiting our Translation History and Evolution page.

One of the more recent steps we have taken to help sustain our Translation Program has been the Adopt-A-Language program. If you are interested in supporting one or more language translations, please visit our Adopt-A-Language section for more information on how you can help.
