The audio of the three volumes: Text, Workbook for Students and Manual for Teachers is read by Mr. Jim Stewart, a student of the Course since 1977. The audio of the Supplements: Psychotherapy: Purpose, Process and Practice and The Song of Prayer: Prayer, Forgiveness, Healing is read by Mr. Brad Cahill.
There are many ways in which you can manage and play MP3 files. Since iTunes is universally used by many to manage their music files, these MP3 files have been optimized to be used on iTunes. Once installed on iTunes the files are collected into albums, each containing one of the ACIM volumes. A Table of Contents for each volume allows listeners to link to areas within the volumes in the same manner as when reading the printed books.
PLEASE NOTE. iTunes frequently makes changes to how things are done, therefore, depending on which version of iTunes you have installed you may find these instructions differ from those you find on your version of iTunes.
ADD MP3 FILES WITHIN FOLDERS ON THE USB FLASH DRIVE TO ITUNES:
The USB flash drive contains three folders — (1) ACIM TEXT; (2) ACIM WORKBOOK; (3) ACIM MANUAL AND SUPPLEMENTS. When you add these folders to your iTunes library, the MP3 files will be copied into five separate albums under MUSIC, each containing a volume from ACIM. Then when you select one of these albums you will be presented with a Table of Contents, each entry in the Table of Contents will link to the requested location within the volume.

DISALLOW SHUFFLING
Once the MP3 files of the Complete Edition of A Course in Miracles are copied into iTunes, you do NOT want the ACIM chapters and lessons (“songs”) in the albums to be shuffled out of order when you shuffle other songs in iTunes. To prevent this from happening you need to prevent shuffling of songs within each of the ACIM albums:
- If it is not already open, open iTunes
- If needed, select the Music tab at the top left of the screen and select Albums
- Scroll to the ACIM album you wish to omit from future shuffling
- “Right click” (Mac: hold down the Control key while you click) on the album with your mouse and select “Get Info”
- Select “Edit items” to accept
- Select Options
- Under “media kind”, select “Audiobook” from the dropdown list. This will prevent iTunes from shuffling the songs within the album. Also, it will tell iTunes to bring you back to the playback position where you stopped listening when you later return.
- Press OK
- Do this for each ACIM album.
Here is an example screen snap similar to what your screen may look like when selecting the “Audiobook” option (which prevents shuffling):
Note that after you have changed each of the 5 ‘albums’ to audiobooks, they will no longer appear in the “music” section of iTunes, but will appear instead in the “Audiobooks” section of your iTunes library, where you would expect to find them.
