“Let’s Discuss”

Projections of Pride and Prejudice

From a Course perspective, is pride better than prejudice?

“The Love of God, for a little while, must still be expressed through one body to another, because vision is still so dim…” (ACIM, T-1.VII.2:3)

In the closet, out of the closet—is there really a closet at all?

With the multitude of sexual preferences, sexual orientation, and growing awareness of gender fluidity, it’s time for FIP to come out of all closets and discuss the topic that ACIM co-scribe Helen Schucman was directed to keep out of the Course and why…

  • Amongst all the words in the Course, why is there no reference to sex or sexuality?
  • Does Lesson 199 “I am not a body. I am free.” mean that we should abstain from sex completely and focus on more “spiritual” matters?
  • What, if any, role did Dr. William Thetford’s closeted homosexuality play in his co-scribing of the Course?

And let’s take a look together at how, in our collective dream, we marginalize people because of their preferences and how applied Course principles can awaken us from homophobic to home.

Let’s join panelists of male-gendered, gay Course teachers and students to discuss the impact of A Course in Miracles through the lens of male homosexuality.

Are you in or out? 😉

This is a 90-minute live webinar.

“You can use your body best to help you enlarge your perception so you can achieve real vision, of which the physical eye is incapable. Learning to do this is the body’s only true usefulness.” (ACIM, T-1.VII.2:4-5)

Meet Our Speakers

Bruce Gregory

In June of 1969, Bruce Gregory, a gay southerner, went to New York City (NYC). Instead of joining the beginning of Gay Rights he found himself fired up with a new-found passion as a spiritual seeker who had a gift for spiritual healing. Bruce quit the corporate finance life and became a popular instructor for the Silva Mind Control Method, but got fired on his second anniversary for being gay. He began teaching A Course in Miracles (ACIM) in NYC before it was published in 1976, and credits ACIM Co-Scribe Bill Thetford as helpful support in his coming out process. Bruce continues to teach ACIM, helps others resolve past-life issues with regression work, and is currently editing the second 10th Anniversary Edition of The Book of Andrew – Witness of a Gay Apostle – A Past-Life Memoir, which will be out later this year.
