In a world where differences and comparisons are inevitable, A Course in Miracles teaches there are no distinctions in perfect Oneness. This is Heaven, our true nature and the only Reality. However, learning to extend Love while navigating a world characterized by “specialness” can pose a unique challenge for Course students.
Join this latest addition to FIP’s “The Role of Teachers” series that will explore this seemingly complex interplay between Love and specialness through the teachings of ACIM with professional Course teacher Keith Kavanagh and Course practitioners. Together, we will explore:
- Understanding Specialness – Delve into the concept of “specialness” and gain clarity on how it differs from Love.
- Practical Application – Learn how to apply Course principles in your daily experiences when faced with differences.
- Holding the Line – Discover how Course teachers and students navigate the challenges of specialness, maintaining the Course’s essential principles in the face of worldly distractions.
Let’s discuss the intricacies, subtleties, and simplicity within the Course’s essential principle of forgiveness. Sometimes an experienced teacher can truly help!
“Love makes no comparisons.” (ACIM, W-195.4:2)

Meet Our Speakers
Keith Kavanagh first heard of A Course In Miracles 30 years ago in a talk by Wayne Dyer where it was quoted, and he has been reading it since. His life took a turn just over a decade ago when a crippling Generalised Anxiety Disorder took hold for 8 years, effectively reducing it to a half-life. It culminated in a rock bottom point of readiness to devote himself to the Course in earnest. The Generalised Anxiety Disorder disappeared and he started having awakening and Oneness experiences. Having been asked to give two talks in a podcast, there was a large number of requests for more teachings, and this was to birth the “A Course In Miracles With Keith” Facebook group, Zoom Meetings, YouTube Channel, Podcast, and eventually, workshops and private mentoring.
Linda Territo has been a student of A Course in Miracles for 30 years, yet became devoted to practicing true forgiveness in the last three years. She assists Keith Kavanagh as a co-administrator on “A Course In Miracles With Keith” online platforms. She currently resides in Stephenville, Texas.
At the age of 8, Sharon Aguillon was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes. Intending for her to see beyond the physical condition, Sharon’s mother introduced her to Louise Hay’s book You Can Heal Your Life where she first learned how “the mind affects the body.” During her pursuits in exploring the mental cause of illness, in 2012 Sharon met teacher Antonia Doctor who founded Aprendiendo a Ser Luz, a school dedicated to teaching A Course in Miracles (ACIM) principles. Sharon then learned how to enter her mind to begin practicing true forgiveness, and her experience began to change. Later, Sharon felt a call to teach with Antonia to help more people. In addition to the school, and together with six wonderful young adults, the two started a community called Oneness, where the teachings of ACIM are shared with young adults. Sharon currently resides in Panama.
Having had a desire to understand “reality” and “truth” for as long as she can recall, Celina Granato’s curiosity and pursuits eventually led her to begin studying the spiritual masterpiece A Course in Miracles (ACIM) in 2005 which ultimately became the framework she used to apply a spiritual thought system of true forgiveness. Originally from the Midwestern U.S., Celina was raised in a salt-of-the-earth community with a multicultural upbringing. She believes that relationships are great opportunities to practice peace, and knows it’s possible to live normally while being uncompromising to ACIM principles. She works as the Communications Manager at the Foundation for Inner Peace.
Tamara Morgan is the daughter of Judith Skutch Whitson and has participated with the Foundation for Inner Peace since its inception, pioneering its special projects and initiatives formally since 1984. Tam met Scribes Drs. Helen Schucman and William Thetford in 1975 and was close to them for the rest of their lives. It was through deep guidance and inner directive that Tam stepped into her current position as President of the Foundation for Inner Peace.
Meet Our Spanish Translator
Veronica Mejia Barney was introduced to A Course in Miracles by her mother at the age of seven. As a child, she recognized the deep ancestral call that the book’s pages transmitted. At 14, she began to practice the Course and embarked on a journey of studying and integrating its principles, which continue to guide her daily life. Veronica is now a committed student, teacher, and translator for A Course in Miracles, and travels to share the message of the Course. She shares, “Since I was 16 years old, I have been translating events and workshops into Spanish, and I feel honored to share such a powerful message with the Spanish-speaking world. The Course continues to inspire and change my life, providing me with a north star to guide my thoughts. I am humbled to be of service so that others can hear the message through my voice.” Veronica is the director of her own Interior Design firm, a sports lover, and a vegan gastronomy enthusiast. She has been married to her husband, Luis, for 10 years, and they have a beautiful Pit Bull named “Timoteo.” You can learn more about Veronica’s offerings on her Facebook page “Elige de Nuevo UCDM-Verónica,” her Spotify podcasts “Despertando a la Realidad“ and “Awakening to Truth,” and her YouTube classes.
“The light in one awakens it in all. And when you see it in your brother, you are remembering for everyone” (ACIM, T-21.I.10:6-7).
