This Permissions page is part of the Terms of Service “Terms” for ACIM.org (the “Site”), owned and managed by the Foundation for Inner Peace.
Please note that there are many different kinds of content on the Site (the “Content” as defined in the Terms of Service) which are subject to varying re-use policies. This Permissions page describes the general permissions guidelines for the Site, but specific Content may have different permissions guidelines.
Content from the Site may not be modified, reproduced, distributed, transmitted, or included, in whole or in part, in derivative works, except as described in these Permissions guidelines. Unless expressly authorized in these Permissions guidelines, all reprinting, republishing, broadcast, web reposting, or other uses of Content from this Site require written permission from the Foundation. In some cases, Foundation for Inner Peace may refer you to another rights holder.
If you have any questions about permissions, please feel free to submit an inquiry about permissions or copyright issues using this contact form.
Things for which you do not need our permission
Generally, text Content from the Site may be printed on paper using your browser’s “Print” functionality for your own personal, non-commercial use only. Please note that “personal use” does not include sharing Content other than as permitted by these Permissions guidelines. Images on the Site may not be copied, downloaded or otherwise used without express permission.
Whenever possible, we ask that you use the electronic sharing functions provided by the Site rather than sharing paper copies, as this gives the recipient the opportunity to explore the Site more deeply. (See “Sharing electronic copies” below).
Students studying A Course in Miracles may make paper copies (photocopies or print-outs) of the content of the site for personal sharing or one-time distribution, free of charge, in class groups, at public events and talks, fairs, meetings, conferences, summits, and the like.
You must ensure that the Site’s copyright and other notices and the URL “ACIM.org” are legible on the copies. Please note that the above permission does not permit you to incorporate or post Content from the Site into another publication, website, etc., without express permission (see Linking to the Site below).
Sharing electronic copies of content
You may share electronic copies of Site Content only through email links. This means you do not actually send a copy of the Content, but instead you send a link to the Content so that the email recipient may access the Content by using the emailed link. You do not need permission to use this “email-a-link” functionality; however, you may not email the Content itself.
Linking to the site
ACIM.org invites you to place a link to the ACIM.org’s homepage on your website. You may also link to specific pages on ACIM.org, but please note that Site Content is subject to change from time to time, which may result in broken links.
Other than as described above, if you would like to repost, reprint or otherwise reuse any Site Content, please see Permission Requests below.
A note to bloggers
ACIM.org appreciates the growing blogging community and wants to be part of the conversation. If possible, we ask that as a blogger you please provide a link to our Site, rather than reproducing Site Content on your blog.
Permission requests
Photos, audio-visual, and audio Content on the Site created by the Foundation for Inner Peace, such as photos, audio clips, audio slideshows, videos and podcasts, whether posted on this Site or any of our other site(s), are made available for your private, personal use only (or as expressly permitted by specific language contained in the particular Content). (Please note that “personal use” does not include sharing Content other than as permitted by these Permissions guidelines.)
You may download, capture, or extract photos, illustrations or other images, audio clips, audio slideshows, radio programs, videos and podcasts from the Site only if the functionality of the Site specifically permits you to do so. For example, YouTube videos which we have enabled for embedding on other websites may be embedded without further permission. Content which the Site permits to be downloaded may be archived only on your own personal computer, but may not be made available to any public or private websites, networks, shared resources or repositories without express permission.
No permission is needed to receive streaming transmissions of Content from the Site for group listening or viewing.
Unless otherwise allowed in these Permissions guidelines, you must request permission in order to reproduce, republish, embed, publicly display, perform, or distribute this Content through any media, including but not limited to broadcast and websites.
