The words “personal responsibility” don’t usually sound like the opening line of a peaceful conversation.
They tend to feel more like something a teacher, parent, or possibly your tax accountant might bring up.
But in A Course in Miracles, responsibility points to something entirely different. It does not mean carrying the weight of the world (which, let’s be honest, the ego tries to hand us daily).
It means remembering where peace actually lives.
The Course points to something far more powerful: responsibility for sight — the willingness to let Spirit gently correct how we see.
Which raises an interesting question.
If the mind is where correction happens, and peace is already present there… why does it sometimes feel like the world is doing everything it can to prove otherwise?
In this reflective and practical conversation, Celina Granato sits with Sarah St. Claire of This Mystic Life for an uncompromising look at forgiveness, personal responsibility, and the willingness to question our thought system through the lens of the Course.
Together, they explore:
- The difference between accepting true responsibility for the mind and the false responsibility the world teaches
- Why being willing not to be right can open the door to peace
- What may be asked of Course students now, in a world that can sometimes feel a little… upside down

And the only perceived limitation is the hesitation we sometimes feel about looking within (which, fortunately, is exactly where peace is waiting).

From an early age, Celina Granato desired to understand the nature of reality. By her mid-twenties, she had explored various paths in search of genuine peace when she was introduced to A Course in Miracles (ACIM), which became her primary spiritual practice, guiding her through life’s challenges by focusing on a thought system of true forgiveness. Originally from the American Midwest and raised in a salt-of-the-earth community with a multicultural upbringing, Celina sees interpersonal relationships as among the most significant opportunities for inner work. She understands the Course as a self-study practice for the mind, and being uncompromising to ACIM principles leads to genuine spiritual growth. She is the Chief International and Communications Officer at the Foundation for Inner Peace.
Meet Our Spanish Translator
Veronica Mejia Barney was introduced to A Course in Miracles by her mother at age seven. As a child, she recognized the deep ancestral call that the book’s pages transmitted. At 14, she began to practice the Course and embarked on a journey of studying and integrating its principles, which continue to guide her daily life. Veronica is now a committed student, teacher, and translator of A Course in Miracles and travels to share the Course’s message. She shares, “Since I was 16 years old, I have been translating events and workshops into Spanish, and I feel honored to share such a powerful message with the Spanish-speaking world. The Course inspires and changes my life, giving me a north star to guide my thoughts. I am humbled to be of service so that others can hear the message through my voice.” Veronica is the director of her Interior Design firm, a sports lover, and a vegan gastronomy enthusiast.
