The Role of Teachers Series: “Let’s Discuss” Gratitude as Attitude: Appreciation as the Pathway Home
Seminario web disponible en español: “Conversemos” sobre Un Curso de Milagros: la gratitud como actitud
Is gratitude without Love just another attitude without God?
“Gratitude is a lesson hard to learn for those who look upon the world amiss. The most that they can do is see themselves as better off than others. And they try to be content because another seems to suffer more than they” (ACIM, W-195.1:1-3).
What does the Course really mean by its declaration that “Love is the way I walk in gratitude” (ACIM, W-215.1:1)?
The Course teaches that gratitude is not rooted in comparison, possessions, or fleeting worldly satisfactions. Instead, it arises from recognizing eternal Love—the Truth of the Son of God–through appreciation for your brother.
How do we “learn to think of gratitude instead of anger, malice and revenge” (ACIM, W-195.9:1) even when we think someone is hurting us, depriving us of something, or not loving us in return?
Join us for an inspiring dialogue with Course teachers and students who may hold differing perspectives, including those from the Foundation for Inner Peace and the Circle of Atonement—two groups sometimes misperceived as rivals in the Course community. Experience how love and gratitude can embrace diverse viewpoints in a spirit of Oneness.
NOTE: The Foundation for Inner Peace does not endorse any individual interpretation of A Course in Miracles. We aim to provide a space for open discussion and exploration of its teachings.
