“Let’s Discuss” Forgiveness: Remembering to Forget or Forgetting to Remember?
Seminario web disponible en español: “Conversemos” sobre Un Curso de Milagros: El perdón
“The Holy Spirit calls you both to remember and to forget” (ACIM, T-5.II.6:1).
In A Course in Miracles, we learn that the world we perceive is not real, yet the pain and suffering in the world feel all too real. How do we reconcile this teaching with the trauma we witness and experience? The weight of historical events, such as the Holocaust, personal loss, and crimes against humanity, can feel heavy. Likewise, the struggles many face today—such as job loss, political unrest, suffering at borders, and growing mental health challenges—can seem overwhelming.
This discussion explores how the Course’s perspective on remembering versus forgetting can help us navigate today’s world of suffering. We discuss:
- How can we shift our perception of the world and respond with love and compassion, even amidst overwhelming pain?
- What does it mean to forgive the unforgivable, and how can we truly see the world anew?
- How can we navigate feelings of helplessness that arise when we witness suffering we cannot control or change?
Join us for an open-hearted discussion with longtime students and teachers of the Course as we share insights, reflections, and mutual support.
NOTE: The Foundation for Inner Peace does not endorse any individual interpretation of A Course in Miracles. We aim to provide a space for open discussion and exploration of its teachings.
