The Foundation for Inner Peace is gratified to announce the recent appointment of Tamara Morgan and Dr. Robert Rosenthal as
Co-Presidents of the organization.
Both Tam and Bob have been affiliated with us since before
A Course in Miracles was published in 1975.
Tamara Morgan has participated with the Foundation for Inner Peace (FIP) since its inception, pioneering its special projects and initiatives formally since 1984. She is also keeper of its Archives and most recently served several years as FIP’s Vice President of Communications. Tam met Scribes Drs. Helen Schucman and William Thetford in 1975 and was close to them for the rest of their lives. In addition, Tam was a beloved friend and confidant of Helen’s husband, Louis, and was chosen by him to interview thirty of Helen’s close family members and associates. With an educational background at Tufts University in writing, Greek & Roman Classics, and Comparative Religion, Tam traveled extensively in Nepal and India participating in the daily lives and practices of Buddhists and Hindus.
In addition to over thirty years of service to FIP, Tam was the Editor-in-Chief and also VP of Programs for YouthNoise, a web-based non profit organization for youth activists. She also served as the San Francisco Senior Director of The Umbrella Project, a nonprofit global children’s art initiative.
Tamara co-authored the book “Double Vision” with her mother, Judith Skutch Whitson. A member of the Writers Guild of America West, Tamara is also a screenplay writer and has a soon-to-be-released book of interviews with Helen Schucman’s closest friends.
It is through deep guidance and inner directive that Tamara has been asked, and has accepted, to step into her current position of co-president of the Foundation for Inner Peace. She and co-president Dr. Robert Rosenthal have known each other as friends and colleagues for over forty years, since 1974.
Dr. Bob Rosenthal was introduced to A Course in Miracles on Christmas Eve, 1975 at the age of 20 by Judith Skutch Whitson. After forty years, he remains an avid student and teacher of the Course, offering creative perspectives to help students deepen their understanding of the material. He was living in the Skutch’s New York home when the first hardbound edition of the Course was printed and there met the two scribes. He became a close friend and protégé of Bill Thetford’s. In 1992, he joined the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Inner Peace. He looks forward to serving in his new role with Tamara Morgan, whom he has known, and whose many gifts he has appreciated, for decades. His guidance is very clear that the heart of the Foundation should rest upon a relationship such as theirs.
Dr. Bob is the author of From Plagues to Miracles: The Transformational Journey of Exodus, From the Slavery of Ego to the Promised Land of Spirit (Hay House, 2012), which reinterprets the biblical story of Moses and Pharaoh through the lens of ACIM. Before taking on his new position with the Foundation, he was a practicing, board-certified psychiatrist for over 30 years. He is also a novelist and screenwriter, with seven feature screenplays, two options and a TV pilot to his credit.
