Dr. Helen Schucman
Born July 14, 1909
A very old audio tape was just found of a singing session with Helen and friends made in 1974.
At one time, Helen had a lovely singing voice but by the time this was made, she was 65 and she felt it had faded.
We thought it might be fun to hear these impromptu few musical moments from the woman who performed her function perfectly in bringing us all A Course in Miracles
“Before you make a promise,
Consider well its importance.
And when made,
Engrave it upon your heart.”
Helen’s Birthday Poem
“The Gifts of God” by Helen Schucman, 1975

You neither come nor go. For even here
Your star is fixed within a little range
Than holds its brightness still, without a change
Until a brighter light starts to appear.
Fixed stars are guideposts to the earthly goal,
Pointing out pathways, avenues of hope.
And pitfalls of despair. Their little scope
Is merged into the grandeur of the Whole.
They do not vanish as the sun appears,
But add their little shining to the sum
Of promise of return. They seem to come
As resting-points against a world of fears.
Only your little light was born today,
Helping in darkness to await the sun
And be enveloped in the Risen One
When you have done His will along the way.
