Honoring our brother, Jerry Jampolsky
Our dearest brother, Jerry, completed his transition in the grace with which he lived. He was nearing his 96th birthday.
We honor his role with the Foundation for Inner Peace from the very beginning of its birth into printed form. Jerry, who often called himself, “the Fifth Wheel,” referring humorously and with humility to his relationship with Judith Skutch Whitson, Drs. Helen Schucman, William Thetford, and Kenneth Wapnick was anything but that. Jerry was an integral member of the early group both as a student and a public communicator of the principles in A Course in Miracles. His numerous books introduced the Course to countless would-be students. As Founder of the Center for Attitudinal Healing, he spread the awareness of the Course worldwide.
Jerry remained a dedicated practitioner of the concepts and lessons of the Course for 45 years. His personal mantra was,
“The Peace of God is my one goal; the aim of all my living here, the end I seek, my purpose and my function and my life, while I abide where I am not at home.” (ACIM W-p1.rVI.205:1-2)
We feel privileged to have witnessed Jerry’s transformational journey in all its phases from specialness to holiness and humbly thank him for letting us make this pilgrimage with him. One of the last comments Jerry said, as he was exiting this dream of a world we made, was in response to a question Judith asked about how he was doing. With his broad smile, he replied, “Still Learning.”
May we all see Jerry’s life as evidence of “with God all things are possible.”
