Keep It Simple, Student – When Doing Less Makes Everything Easier with Alan Cohen
Seminario web disponible en español: ¡Mantenlo simple, estudiante!
In this Conversations on Course fireside chat, Tam Morgan sits down with Alan Cohen, a longtime Course student, teacher, and author who has a gift for gently dismantling the ways we make the Course far more complicated than necessary.
Because, as Alan says (and we love him for this): “I was not impressed or distracted by its complexity… it says in the Course, ‘This is a very simple course’ (ACIM, T-11.VIII.1:1)… So I seized onto that. I thought, if this is simple, then I want it.”
Together, they return to what A Course in Miracles has been teaching all along: It’s simple… and we may be the ones making it complicated.
Along the way, they explore:
✨ Why “trying harder” is often the exact wrong strategy
✨ What it really means to move from efforting… to allowing
✨ How guidance actually shows up (and how quickly we overthink it)
With warmth, clarity, and a few well-timed laughs, Alan shares from decades of living the Course, not as something to master, but something to relax into.
A teaser to so many other gems, Alan confides:
“I’m a Course student. I’m trying to figure it out like everybody else. I have my ups and my downs… my insights and my outsights.” Which may be the most accurate spiritual biography ever written.
This conversation is for anyone who has ever overthought a simple moment, tried to “get” the Course, or wondered if peace could really be this accessible. Join us for a conversation that feels less like a lesson and more like a remembering.
NOTE: The Foundation for Inner Peace does not endorse any individual interpretation of A Course in Miracles. We aim to provide a space for open discussion and exploration of its teachings.
