The Foundation for A Course in Miracles is a teaching organization for A Course in Miracles. It was founded in 1983 by Dr. Kenneth Wapnick and his wife, Gloria. As a teaching center, it was conceived of and has always functioned as a school for A Course in Miracles under the direction of Kenneth and Gloria, who served as both administrators and faculty members until the passing of Dr. Kenneth Wapnick on December 27, 2013. The Foundation for A Course in Miracles continues the work of Dr. Kenneth Wapnick under the guidance of Gloria Wapnick. Read the memorial tributes to Dr. Wapnick.
Kenneth Wapnick received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1968 from Adelphi University. He was a close friend and associate of Helen Schucman and William Thetford, the two people whose joining together was the immediate stimulus for the scribing of A Course in Miracles. Kenneth was involved with A Course in Miracles since 1973, writing, teaching, and integrating its principles with his practice of psychotherapy. He was on the Executive Board of the Foundation for Inner Peace since its inception. The Foundation is the original publisher of A Course in Miracles.
Gloria Wapnick has a Masters degree in History from Hunter College (1970). She taught social studies in a New York City high school, where she was also Dean of Students. Gloria has been working with A Course in Miracles since 1977 and conducted her own group for several years. She and Kenneth have lectured throughout the United States and around the world.
In 1984 the Foundation evolved into a Teaching and Healing Center in Crompond, New York, which was quickly outgrown. In 1988 Kenneth and Gloria opened the Academy and Retreat Center in upstate New York. In 1995, they established the Institute for Teaching Inner Peace through A Course in Miracles, an educational corporation chartered by the New York State Board of Regents.

In 2001 the Foundation moved to Temecula, California.

In 2018 the Foundation moved to Henderson, Nevada.
